MANHATTAN, Kan.-- Preparing for its final tune up prior to the Big 12 Championship, the Kansas State women's golf team will travel to Dallas, Texas, April 4-6, to compete in the SMU Dallas Athletic Club Invitational at the par 72, 6,264-yard Dallas Athletic Club.
The Wildcats will play 18 holes each day with tee times beginning at 8 a.m., on Friday and Saturday and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., on Sunday.
"The team is looking forward to Dallas Athletic Club and the SMU Invitational," head coach Kristi Knight said. "This has been a busy competitive stretch for the team the last two and half weeks."
K-State will send the scoring lineup of juniors Olivia Eliasson and Carly Ragains, senior Gianna Misenhelter, freshman Katherine Gravel-Coursol and sophomore Scotland Preston. It is the sixth time this season the Wildcats have used this scoring lineup with the last occasion being March 28-29 at the Mountain View Collegiate when the Wildcats finished eighth at 26-over par 890. Eliasson carded the low score for K-State with a 71-74-72--217 (+1), improving her rounds at or under-par to a team-high six.
"We have practiced well and are motivated by the signs of progress we are making as a team," Knight said.
Ragains, coming off a season-best 54-hole performance at the Mountain View Collegiate, will be seeking her third top-10 finish of the season, as will Misenhelter, who tied for 13th at this event last year.
The Wildcats will be joined in the SMU Dallas Athletic Club Invitational by a strong field consisting of Baylor, Iowa, Kansas, Kent State, LSU, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Texas, returning-champion Oklahoma State, Purdue, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, UTSA and Wake Forest.
