DALLAS, Texas - Led by juniors Olivia Eliasson and Carly Ragains, the Kansas State women's golf team moved up the leaderboard on the second day of the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club Invitational at the par-72, 6,264-yard Dallas Athletic Golf Club.

The Wildcats fired a 14-over par 302 on day two -- 16 strokes better than Friday's first round -- to move into a tie for 10th place with TCU. K-State tallied eight birdies on the day and head into Sunday's final round seven strokes behind host SMU.

"I am proud of the effort today," head coach Kristi Knight said. "They all maintained their emotions and patience today."

After carding an even-par 72 in round one, Eliasson carded a 2-over par 74 in Saturday's second round and currently sits in a tie for second overall. She trails tournament leader Elizabeth Mallett of North Carolina by five strokes.

Ragains also fired a 2-over par 74-- 10 strokes better than round one -- to move up 19 positions and currently sits in a tie for 54th. Ragains' lone birdie of the day came at the third-toughest hole, the par-4, 365-yard No. 5.

Also improving her round one score was senior Gianna Misenhelther, who fired a 5-over par 77, one stroke better than in round one. Misenhelter heads into Sunday's final round in a tie for 37th overall. Joining Misenhelter at 5-over par today was freshman Katherine Gravel-Coursol, who improved seven strokes from her round one score, to currently sit in a tie for 64th overall.

"These greens are demanding, but we were more efficient and saved more pars," Knight said.

Sophomore Scotland Preston improved four strokes from round one with an 8-over par 80. She is currently in 80th place with a two round score of 20-over par 164.

Baylor continues to lead the team scoring with a two round score of 15-over par 591.
