MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State women's golf team will travel to Austin, Texas, April 25-27, to compete at the Big 12 Championship at the par-72 6,143 yard UT Golf Course. K-State will tee off at 9:40 a.m., on Friday and will be paired with TCU and Texas Tech.

"The UT Golf Course offers holes with wide fairways and some with narrow fairways. There is a little but of elevation change, which we are used to at Colbert Hills," head coach Kristi Knight said. "The greens are demanding and it will be important to be on the proper side of the hole more times than not."

The Wildcats will send the scoring lineup of junior Olivia Eliasson, senior Gianna Misenhelter, junior Carly Ragains and freshmen Katherine Gravel-Coursol and freshman Madison Talley.

"We are excited about the Big 12 Championship," Knight said. "I like how the team has been responding as the season has progressed. There is definite improvement from February to now."

Eliasson looks to continue her successful spring as the junior has earned four consecutive top-20 finishes, including a tie for second overall with a 2-over par 146 at the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club Invitational. Eliasson, who currently leads the team in rounds at or under par with seven, also recorded the Wildcats best round of the season - a 3-under par 69 at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Sept. 9, 2013.

Misenhelter, who has recorded eight top-10 and 17 top-20 finishes in her career at Kansas State, has had three rounds under par this season. Her best score vs. par was a 1-under 71 in the third round of the Westbrook Invitational, helping the Wildcats secure a season-best 54-hole score of 12-over par 876.

Leading the Wildcats in scoring this season with a 75.92 scoring average, Ragains hopes to add to her successful junior campaign which has included six top-20 finishes and two top-10 finishes, including a tie for fifth overall at the BYU/Entrada Classic. Ragains also leads the Wildcats this season in average stroke differential with a 5.32 average.

Making an appearance in her 10th tournament of the season, Gravel-Coursol seeks a successful end to her consistent freshman season which has included a tie for 24th overall at the Sunflower Invitational, a tournament where the Wildcats marked their highest result of the season with a second place finish.

"Katherine has turned in multiple solid rounds for the team throughout the season," Knight said. "Also, playing her best golf these last two weeks in practice has been Madison Talley."

Talley is making her sixth appearance of the season, which has included a season-best even-par 72 in the third round of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic.

K-State finished ninth at last year's Big 12 Championship, while the Wildcats' best placing was in 2009 when Coach Knight guided the Wildcats to a fourth-place finish.
