K-State Women Ready for Big 12 Championships

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State women’s golf team will head to Lawrence this Friday through Sunday, April 27-29, to compete in the Big 12 Championships at the par 70, 6,150-yard Lawrence Country Club, with 18 holes to be played each day.
Misenhelter is coming off a 16th place finish at the Indiana Invitational and is looking to finish the season strong. The sophomore currently leads the team with a 74.60 stroke average and two top-5 finishes.
This is Ragains’s fourth consecutive appearance for the Wildcats. The freshman currently has the second best stroke average at 75.60 and is looking to finish the spring strong.
Pyle, who led the Wildcats at the Indiana Invitational, is coming off a season high seventh-place finish. The junior has the third best stroke average at 75.92 and will look to earn her second top-10 finish of the season.
This will be the first event in which K-State will compete against the entire Big 12 field. The Wildcats have faced conference teams throughout the season with an 8-11 (.421) record. The 12-team field consists of Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas and Texas Tech.
K-State’s best finish at the Big 12 Championships came in 2009 when Coach Knight guided her team to a fourth-place finish.
