MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s golfer Hanna Roos was named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team, the organization announced Friday.

Roos, a junior during the 2011-12 season, has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.708 in graphic design and is a two-time First Team Academic All-Big 12 performer. Roos is the first Wildcat named to the NGCA All-American Scholar Team since Katy Heffel, Helene Robert and Abbi Sunner in 2007. Heffel was a four-time recipient, while Robert was honored three times.

A product of Uppsala, Sweden, Roos finished her junior campaign with a 77.56 stroke average in nine events with two top-20 finishes. She tied for 12th at the Westbrook Spring Invitational with a 1-over par 217, while she led K-State at the Big 12 Championship by placing 15th at 20-over par 230.

The NGCA honors players from all three NCAA divisions as a total of 585 women’s collegiate golfers were recognized by the organization this year. Qualification for the All-American Scholar Team is one of the most stringent among all college athletics as the minimum GPA for inclusion onto the team is 3.50.
