MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The Kansas State women's golf team announced the signing of two golfers to National Letters of Intent Wednesday as Chandler Gallagher and Connie Jaffrey will join the Wildcats for the 2014-15 season.

"I am excited and proud to add Chandler and Connie to the K-State women's golf family," head coach Kristi Knight said. "They both bring tremendous talent and character. They are both competitive, have a good work ethic and are great additions to our team."

Gallagher comes to K-State from Kearney High School in Kearney, Mo. She is currently the No. 1 ranked player in Missouri in both the AJGA Polo and Golfweek rankings. Recently she was honored with the 2013 Midwest PGA Section Junior Student-Athlete of the Year. Gallagher set the Kearney High School scoring record this fall with an 18-hole mark of 67, propelling her to a win in the Liberty Invitational. This past summer she garnered two top-five AJGA finishes with a fifth place finish at the Stacy Lewis Open and a second place finish at the Bass Pro/Payne Stewart Open. She was also a medalist at the USGA Junior Girls Qualifier held in Columbus, Neb., and earned a trip to the USGA Junior Girls Championship in Ft. Wayne, Ind., where she finished 27th out of 144 players in the stroke play to advance to match play.

Jaffrey, a native of Kilwinning, Scotland, is one of the premiere junior golfers in Scotland. She was recently named the 2013 Scottish Girls Order of Merit Winner, which recognizes the top junior golfer. Jaffrey was the 2013 Scottish Girls Champion, the 2013 Scottish Schools Champion, and 2013 Ayrshire Ladies Champion. She was also the top point scorer for Scotland and the entire tournament in the Home International Championship.

K-State will begin the spring campaign February 14-16, at the Florida State Matchup in Tallahassee, Fla.
