Athlete Q&A
What was it like to walk on to the team?
As a walk-on, I had a unique opportunity to try something I had never done before. I had to work hard, harder than I ever had before, to earn the title of a Division 1 athlete.

What does K-State Rowing mean to you?
There is a quote in our locker room that says, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." This is the definition of our team to me because most of us come in to the program without experience. We have to work harder to learn and perfect technique so we can be competitive.

What's your favorite memory of the past season?
Hands down, beating Oklahoma in Austin. We knew that we had improved but beating them gave us the glimpse of what it felt like to power past a ranked team. It gave us confidence and helped propel us to one of the most successful seasons K-State has had.
