Athlete Q&A Why did you choose K-State? I chose K-State because the campus was beautiful and the people were incredibly welcoming. I also chose K-State because I wanted a new challenge and rowing was the perfect opportunity.
How is rowing different than other sports you've been involved in? Rowing is different than any sport I've been involved in in that practice and races are completely weather dependent. It's also unique in that most people haven't done it before.
What was it like to walk on to the team? Walking on to the team was a great experience. I was never scared because I knew most of the other girls were in my shoes; rowing was new to all of us. It was especially awesome to have a bunch of teammates new to college as well. It made the transition from high school to college easy.
