No. 54 TCU Defeats No. 71 K-State on Friday

FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 71 Kansas State visited the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Friday looking for its first-ever win over No. 54 TCU and to halt a five-match skid but the Horned Frogs sent the Wildcats to its sixth straight defeat with a 7-0 decision.

The Wildcats fall to 8-11 for the season and 2-5 in Big 12 action, while TCU improves to 11-11 on the year and 4-4 in the league.

The Horned Frogs swept through doubles action to win the point. K-State fell just shy of winning at number one doubles, with TCU carding an 8-7 win.

In singles, K-State played four 3-set matches but came away with four losses. The Wildcats are now 17-22 this season and 4-8 in Big 12 action in three-set matches. On Friday, K-State won the first set in all four matches, but fell in the following two sets.

The Wildcats conclude its 2014 spring road schedule on Sunday, as K-State travels to Lubbock, Texas, to face No. 34 Texas Tech at 12 p.m.
