FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 67 Kansas State attempted to reach its first Big 12 Tennis Championship semifinal since the 2000 season, but No. 25 Oklahoma State held back the upset attempt with a 4-0 win over the Wildcats at Friedman Tennis Center on Friday.

Oklahoma State jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, as the Cowgirls secured wins at number one and three doubles to clinch the point.

The Cowgirls used the momentum from the its doubles point win to sail to three singles wins to advance to Saturday’s Big 12 Tennis Championship semifinals. Oklahoma secured wins at number six, two and  three singles to seal the win.

Kansas State ends the season with a 10-13 overall record and a 3-6 mark in Big 12 action. As a team entering the 2014-15 season, the Wildcats will welcome back six players from its 2013-14 lineup headlined by senior-to-be Amina St. Hill and will add Tegan Louw into the mix as she missed the 2013-14 season due to injury.

K-State senior Petra Niedermayerova will await the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Singles Championships selections in May. She will attempt to become the first Wildcat in school history to qualify for four NCAA Singles Championships. Her overall record this season stands at 24-9, which ranks tied for fifth in school history for singles wins in a season.
