MANHATTAN, Kan. – The first fall tennis event on the K-State campus since 1997 came to a conclusion on Sunday afternoon, as Kansas State carded six singles wins over Omaha.

Freshman Riley Nizzi concluded her first weekend in a K-State uniform with an unblemished record of 3-0. The walk-on from Overland Park, Kan., turned in a 7-5, 6-4 win over Jacqueline Baude to complete her perfect weekend.

Freshmen Palma Juhasz and Iva Bago boosted their records for the weekend to 2-1 with wins on Sunday. Juhasz carded a quick 6-2, 6-0 result over Hylan Miller. Bago followed just behind Juhasz to pick up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Molly Matricardi.

Freshmen Livia Cirnu and Maria Panaite also ran their records for the weekend to 2-1. The product of Constanta, Romania, Cirnu tallied a 6-4, 6-1 win over Kenzie Hill. Panaite, a product of Pitesti, Romania, notched a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Lindsay Weideman.

Junior Amina St. Hill registered a 6-2, 6-2 win over Omaha’s Alex Tran. The win improved St. Hill’s career record to 22-29 and she has now won four of her last six singles matches.

For the weekend, K-State won 13 singles matches and five doubles matches. K-State’s top doubles duo at the K-State Fall Invitational of St. Hill and Juhasz completed the weekend as the doubles champions by finishing with a 3-0 record.

K-State will travel to Bloomington, Ind., next weekend for the Hoosier Classic.
