This will be the first meeting between K-State and Cal Poly... K-State is 3-2 against schools from the Big West Conference... The Wildcats are 0-4 all-time against Fresno State... The Bulldogs won the last meeting with K-State, 7-0, on March 22, 2007 in Fresno, Calif.... K-State is 19-40 against schools from the Mountain West Conference.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – No. 42 Kansas State will wrap up its 2013 spring non-conference schedule this weekend, as the Wildcats travel to Fresno, Calif. The Wildcats will face Cal Poly on Sunday, March 17 at 1 p.m. (CT), and No. 61 Fresno State on Monday, March 18 at 7 p.m. (CT). K-State will look to end a four-match losing streak.
The Wildcats (4-6, 0-2 Big 12) opened Big 12 action last weekend with a pair of defeats and has started Big 12 play 0-2 for the first time since the 2010 season. K-State suffered a 5-2 loss at No. 28 Oklahoma State and a 4-3 loss at No. 40 Oklahoma.
In the two matches, K-State dropped the doubles point for the sixth and seventh straight matches and own a 1-6 team record in those matches. This spring, K-State is 6-19 in doubles play, with four wins coming from the top tandem and No. 32 ranked duo of Petra Niedermayerova and Karla Bonacic. Both Niedermayerova and Bonacic have surpassed the 50-win mark for their careers in doubles action this season. Bonacic is 51-57 in her career in doubles play, while Niedermayerova is 50-39.
For the season in singles, K-State has been led by Niedermayerova. The junior from Brno, Czech Republic, is ranked No. 15 in the national ITA singles rankings and has registered a team-leading record of 23-6 overall including a 9-1 mark this spring. She needs two singles wins to set a new career-high for singles wins in a season.
For her career, Niedermayerova is 71-29 (.710) in her career and ranks fourth on the K-State career singles wins list. She is the fourth player in school history with 70 career singles wins. She needs six singles wins to move into a three-way tie for second with Petra Sedlmajerova (1999-03; 77-47) and Jessica Simosa (2001-06; 77-61). She needs eight wins to move into a tie for first with Maria Rosenberg (2000-05; 79-54).
Following this weekend’s matches in California, K-State will return to Big 12 action to face Sunflower State rival Kansas. The Wildcats will travel to Lawrence to face the Jayhawks on Saturday, March 30 at 1 p.m.
Among the Campbell/ITA Rankings
In the debut of the spring 2013 Campbell/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national team rankings, Kansas State checked in at No. 67 on Jan. 3. Since the debut of those rankings, K-State has ascended as high as No. 32 in the Feb. 26 rankings and has settled into No. 42 in the March 12 ranking. The Wildcats are also represented in the national singles and doubles rankings by Petra Niedermayerova, Karla Bonacic and Ivana Kubickova.
K-State has made 32 appearances in the last 37 Campbell/ITA national team rankings dating back to Feb. 8, 2011. The No. 32 ranking from Feb. 26 was the highest ranking for K-State since March 29, 2011, when the program reached a record-high of No. 31.
Niedermayerova opened the 2013 spring season ranked No. 15 in the national ITA singles rankings and retained her top position in ITA Central Region. With her No. 15 ranking in the March 12 singles rankings, she has now appeared in 22 consecutive national ITA singles rankings with a career-best of No. 14 in the fall 2012 rankings.
Bonacic appeared in the national ITA singles rankings, checking in at No. 94 in the Feb. 26 rankings. Her career-high ranking of No. 65 came in the spring of 2012.
In the March 12 national doubles rankings, Niedermayerova appeared twice. She is ranked No. 32 with Bonacic. The duo has an 12-9 record this season, including two wins this spring over top-20 doubles teams. Niedermayerova and Bonacic have been ranked together in eight straight national ITA doubles rankings dating back to April 17, 2012. When paired together over the last two-plus seasons, the duo is 25-25. Niedermayerova owns a team-leading doubles record of 17-9 this season, while she is 50-39 in her career, while Bonacic owns a career doubles record of 51-57.
Niedermayerova also appears at No. 41 in the nation with Ivana Kubickova, after the duo advanced to the finals of the 2012 ITA Central Regional, and has tallied a 5-1 record when paired together this season. Among the 2013 ITA Central region rankings, the pair is ranked No. 3. Kubickova is second on the team with a doubles mark of 14-13.
