MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s tennis coach Steve Bietau announced on Wednesday the signing of Marketa Trousilova to a national letter of intent for the 2011-12 season.
“Marketa will be a great addition to our program at K-State,” said Bietau about his signee. “She is a very good player, a strong student, and has a great competitive attitude. I think she has a very bright future at K-State and will help our team continue to improve.”
Trousilova is a product of Teplice, Czech Republic and has an accomplished record as a junior. She is a two-time finalist in a pair of USTA events and is a five-time champion of a Czech Regional master’s tournament in doubles play. Trousilova also owns a title in an ITF Tournament in doubles action and advanced to a pair of finals in the TA Tournament in the Czech Republic.
For the 2011-12 season, Trousilova will team with fellow countrywomen Petra Chuda and Petra Niedermayerova and she will become the 11th student-athlete K-State has signed from the Czech Republic.
Kansas State will open the spring portion of its schedule at the Bulldog Invitational on Jan. 14-16 in Athens, Ga. The Wildcats’ first dual match will be Jan. 21 against New Mexico at the Body First Tennis and Fitness Center.
