MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s tennis head coach Steve Bietau announced on Tuesday the signings of Palma Juhasz and Tegan Louw to National Letters of Intent (NLI) during the early signing period from Nov. 14-21. Juhasz and Louw will join the program beginning in the fall of 2013.

“I'm really happy to have Palma and Tegan become Wildcats,” said Bietau of his new additions. “Both are strong players with very different games. I'm most excited about the work ethic, motivation, and commitment that they both exhibit.”

Juhasz is an accomplished player from Debrecen, Hungary. She is an eight-time junior Hungarian champion, winning titles from U12 to U18. While competing in the U12 and U14 division, Juhasz was a member of the Hungarian National Team and played matches throughout Europe and China. She also represented Hungary on the Nike Junior Tour World Final in Spain in 2006.

In 2012, Juhasz captured the Hungarian women’s doubles title and climbed to a ranking on No. 8 in the nation. In singles play in 2012, Juhasz earned a national ranking of No. 13.

Louw joins the Wildcats from Whitehill, Hampshire, United Kingdom. She ascended to a No. 11 national singles ranking in the United Kingdom.

At her high school, Alton Sixth Form College, Louw was her team’s captain and was named the MVP in four sports including tennis, lacrosse, netball and rounders. She garnered her school’s All-Around Athlete Award and helped her school win the Surrey County Championship in tennis.

Tennis runs in her family, as her father Chris, played collegiately at Miami (Fla.) and on the pro tour.

Kansas State will resume workouts in early January in preparation for the 2013 spring season. K-State will open the 2013 spring schedule at the Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga., on Jan. 18-20.
