Recap |  Box Score |  Photo Gallery

Head Coach Suzie Fritz
On her team's performance ...

"There were a couple of areas that I thought we were really good. I thought our serving was really effective. We forced them out of system, and they were not able to get their quick [sets] going. I thought our transition offense and free-ball offense were pretty productive. Those are three things that we have been working on quite a big, so I was happy with those areas."

On playing at home for the first time this season ...

"It was great just to have our own people, our own band and our fans, all rooting for us, it is just tremendous. Honestly, there is just no better place to play than home at Ahearn [Field House]."

On the standouts for her team aginast SEMO...

"I was really proud of how Natali Jones played when she came into the match. The same with Courtney Cook. I think depth can be a strength for this team. We are using a lot of people and we feel confident in a lot of people."

On what her team needs to improve upon before tonight's match...

"We need to be far more effective in our first-swing offense. When we receive the ball, we want to be more productive."

Senior Outside Hitter Dakota Kaufman

On her and her team's performance...

"I thought as a team we came out and played really well. We swept them and that is what we wanted to do. We played very consistently and that is something we wanted to achieve coming out of the locker room."

On opening up at home...

"It was awesome. We were ready to play at home. We have an advantage when we play at home and we are able to have our own training room and know everyone that is there."

Senior Outside Hitter Courtney Traxson

On her and her team's performance...

"We are kind of mixing positions a little bit. Today I played on the right side to start and I felt like I did pretty well. I think I had a good overall hitting percentage. I think the team did awesome. We threw things at them that they were not expecting and we had different people come in who played awesome in their positions. There was no drag today."

On the improvements for tonight's game...

"I think we just want to keep our serve and passing at a high level. That is something we focus on and our transition hitting is something we have been working on. We just want to keep those numbers high and going out there and battling."
