MANHATTAN, Kan. – After one of the most successful volleyball seasons in K-State history, which culminated with an exciting run to the NCAA Regional Semifinals, the Wildcats will look for another storybook season as every starter returns from the 2011 squad. Athletics officials announced Monday season tickets for the 2012 volleyball season are now available and fans will not want to miss the exciting action this season with a number of season ticket packages available that include all 15 home matches in Ahearn Field House.
Season ticket options include Reserved Chairbacks at $85 each and available exclusively to Ahearn Fund members, Cat Cushion balcony seating at $65 each for adults and just $50 each for youth, senior citizens, faculty/staff and military, and discounted General Admission balcony seating starting at just $30 each with the purchase of four or more season tickets. Season tickets are available by calling the ticket office at 800-221-CATS, online at kstatesports.com or in person at the Bramlage Coliseum Ticket Office between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
K-State ranked 24th in the nation in attendance in 2011 thanks to the Wildcat faithful packing Ahearn with more than 1,500 fans per contest. Head Coach Suzie Fritz said she is excited about the upcoming season and believes the fans can help make 2012 another great season for her Wildcats.
“We like where the team is at right now. The internal expectations are very high going into next season and we are looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. We’re excited about this season and the potential our team has,” Fritz said. “The support our program has always received from the fans and the K-State community makes this a special place to coach and compete. Ahearn Field House is one of the best volleyball atmospheres in the nation every year, and we can’t wait to see the fans pack the stands again this fall.”
Season ticket holders will receive several exclusive benefits this season; including two complimentary guest tickets per account for the home opener against UC Irvine on August 24, an invitation to a season ticket holder appreciation event with the coaching staff and players that same evening, participation in the roll-over ticket program which allows fans to redeem unused game tickets for general admission seats to future matches, as well as a new season ticket referral program that will reward season ticket holders with incentives for generating new season ticket purchases from family, friends and colleagues.
K-State is also offering an Early Bird Special this year for fans who purchase season tickets by June 1. Fans renewing before June 1 will receive a $10 savings from the order processing fee. Early Birds will also be entered into drawings to win a number of prizes including an autographed volleyball, framed team photo, post-season dinner with the team, official K-State Nike apparel and more.
The season ticket priority renewal deadline is July 2. New season ticket holders are encouraged to purchase early, however, Reserved Chairback availability will not be determined until after the priority deadline. Fans interested in purchasing chairback seats should reserve a Cat Cushion or General Admission season ticket and note a request to upgrade. Upgrade requests will be processed in athletic department priority point order, which accumulates points for Ahearn Fund membership donations and season ticket purchases, following the July 2 deadline.
K-State volleyball opens its home schedule on August 24-25 when the Wildcats host the annual Varney’s Invitational. This year’s tournament will welcome UC Irvine, Oakland and Oregon State. The Wildcats will have five home matches against teams that reached the 2011 NCAA Tournament as well. K-State will host Missouri State on September 5, and four tournament teams from the Big 12 Conference will make the journey to Ahearn Field House. Two of those teams, Texas and Iowa State, each reached the Regional Finals.
