The K-State volleyball team hit the town of Manhattan on Wednesday evening as the Wildcats showed their appreciation for some of their biggest fans.

Four Wildcats, Mattie Batchelder, Bailey Shurbet, Sheridan Zarda and Kylee Zumach, hand-delivered season tickets for the upcoming 2014 season throughout the Manhattan community. They made five stops, taking time away from two-a-days and visiting with K-State families.

"We got to give [the season ticket holders] their tickets and kind of meet their families, where they are from and see the excitement in their eyes about the team and the games," said Zarda. "It was really fun to go out and meet them."

Zarda and Zumach are two of the nine newcomers on this year's team. Despite the fact that they have not played in front of Wildcat fans yet, it did not stop them from understanding how important each fan is to providing that home-court advantage that K-State has enjoyed over the years (The Wildcats are 32-8 at home over the last three seasons).

"The love [our fans] kind of have for us - I know the girls that went out there today to give [the tickets] out were super pumped to meet [the fans]," said Zarda. "Now, we play for them. They are our family."

K-State's home season gets underway on September 4 with a 6 pm match against Arkansas, kicking off the Varney's Invitational in Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats will play three matches from September 4-6 as part of the tournament, competing for the first time in their temporary home in Bramlage.

The home season continues on Monday, September 8 when K-State takes on Missouri State back in Ahearn Field House. The match against the Bears will be one of 10 contests the Wildcats will host in historic Ahearn.

Season tickets are still available for the entire 13-match home schedule. Fans can purchase season tickets, which start as low as $2.50 per match, by visiting www.kstatesports.com/tickets, calling 1-800-221-CATS (2287), or stopping by the ticket office in Bramlage Coliseum.

Single-match tickets go on sale starting Monday, August 18. For a complete list of promotions for the upcoming season, including the Bramlage Bundle, click here.

The Wildcats, led by Big 12 Preseason Team selection Katie Brand, return seven letterwinners, including four seniors, from last year's 18-11 team. K-State opens its regular season on the road in Green Bay, Wisconsin with the Green Bay Country Inn and Suites Invitational on August 29-30.
