MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State volleyball team will get one of their final tune-ups before the start of the 2013 season with the annual Purple/White Scrimmage on Thursday, August 22nd at Ahearn Field House. First serve is set for 7 pm and admission is free to all fans.
The scrimmage comes near the end of a busy summer for the Wildcats. K-State represented the United States at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia during July, and they have been in Fall Camp for the last two weeks.
Fans will be able to purchase tickets for the upcoming season at the scrimmage as well as pick up team posters and schedules.
K-State returns four starters and 10 letterwinners from a 2012 team that went 21-9 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. The Wildcats are led by unanimous Preseason All-Big 12 middle blocker Kaitlynn Pelger and co-Freshman of the Year, setter Katie Brand.
The 2013 campaign kicks off on Friday, August 30th when the Wildcats head to Las Vegas for the UNLV Invitational. The home slate starts on Friday, September 6th with the K-State Invitational. The Wildcats have a day-night doubleheader on September 6th as they face Southeast Missouri State at noon and Southern Illinois at 7:30 pm.
Single match tickets for the 2013 season are on sale now and start at $8 for adults and $5 for youth/senior citizens/military. Tickets can be purchased by calling toll free at (800) 222-CATS (2287), online at www.kstatesports.com/tickets and in person at Bramlage Coliseum. Season tickets are also on sale through the ticket office with a Wildcat 4 Pack for just $120, which includes four general admission bench tickets to every home match.
