MANHATTAN, Kan. – With only five days remaining until the home opener, Kansas State volleyball fans can see the Wildcats take on Creighton on Tuesday for just $1 as part of the launch party for the recently announced online network K-StateHD.TV.

The volleyball match against Creighton is set for a 7 p.m. first serve and will be the first home event broadcast on K-StateHD.TV, and Athletics Director John Currie said he wants to see a large crowd in Ahearn Field House to start the home schedule off right and show the fans watching online the passion the K-State Family shares for their Wildcats.

"We are looking forward to start of the fall season with our home-opening volleyball match against Creighton," Currie said. "As we debut K-StateHD.TV with our first live event in front of a global audience, we want Ahearn to be packed with purple. Our continued fan and community support have traditionally made Ahearn Field House one of the best volleyball atmospheres in the nation.”

Ahearn Field House provides an exciting atmosphere to debut K-StateHD.TV as Wildcat fans ranked 18th in the nation last year in attendance averaging nearly 2,000 per match. The Purple Pit and the rest of the student section help create an atmosphere unmatched in the Big 12 Conference, and the department is excited to be able to display it on such a medium as K-StateHD.TV.

To purchase tickets fans can do so online at www.kstatesports.com/tickets or visit the Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum during office hours. Tickets will also be for sale at Ahearn prior to the match for walk-up purchases.

Fans can learn more about K-StateHD.TV or to subscribe to the service by visiting www.k-statehd.tv. The subscription service remains a product of K-State’s All-Access platform through the CBS College Network so current subscribers will have immediate access to K-State HD.TV content. Also, All-Access users will benefit from the upgraded viewing experience without an increase in subscription costs as they will remain at $9.95 per month and $79.95 per year.
