Season bests: Mile run (4:56.60), 3000m (9:55.43), 5000m (17:37.83).... Brought in a 14th-place finish at the Big 12 Indoor Championship for the 5000 meters.... Earned a top-20 performance in the 3000-meter race during the Iowa State Classic.... Finished sixth in the mile race at the Jim Green Invitational... Recorded a top-10 outing at the Razorback Invitational during the mile event.
2018-19
Did not compete during 2019 outdoor season.
Indoor
Season bests: 800m (2:18.48), Mile (4:53.46), 3,000m (9:52.87)... Placed 14th in the mile at the Big 12 Championship, running a 5:03.31 in the prelims... Ran a season best 4:53.46 in the event at the Razorback Invitational... Placed fourth at the Sevigne Husker Invitational in the 3,000 meters, running a 9:52.87... Placed 18th in the 3,000 meters at the Big 12 Championship.
2017-18
Outdoor
Season bests: 800m (2:16.52), 1500m (4:33.95), 3,000m steeplechase (10:40.98), 5,000m (17:38.69)… Placed eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Big 12 Championship, running a season best 10:40.98, which is the fifth-fastest in K-State history… She was also a part of the winning 4x1600 meter relay at the Drake Relays, marking the first time a K-State team won the event… Melgares capped off her impressive freshman season by placing fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the USATF Junior Championships, placing fifth in 10:57.35.
Indoor
Season bests: 800 (2:18.66), 1000m (2:58.16), Mile (4:51.93) and 3000m (9:58.70)... Ran a season best 4:51.93 in the mile prelims at the Big 12 Championship, she later placed seventh in the finals with a time of 4:58.25.
High School
Ran for local Manhattan high school...Finished in fourth place in the 1600 meter run at the 2016 KSHSAA 6A State Championships where she ran her personal record 5:05.04... Also finished in seventh place in the 3200 meter run.
