Conlon enters his fourth year as a volunteer assistant coach with Kansas State baseball in 2019-20. Conlon was a four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats from 2011-15, including leading the Wildcats to their only Super Regional appearance in 2013.
In 2019, K-State earned its first bid to the Big 12 Baseball Championship since the 2016 season after going 25-33 (8-16 Big 12) and finishing eighth in the Big 12 standings. The Cats hit 54 home runs in the 2019 season, their highest single-season output since 2009.
In his first season as an assistant, Conlon helped K-State to a 29-26 overall record, its first winning season since the 2013 season. Conlon helped guide the Cats to victories over No. 4 South Carolina and No. 6 Texas Tech.
Conlon has seen six Wildcats from taken in the MLB Draft over his three seasons: Will Brennan (8th round, Cleveland), Jordan Floyd (10th round, Kansas City), Drew Mount (16th round, Cinicinatti), Jake Scudder (16th round, Washington), Parker Rigler (31st round, Chicago [AL]) and Josh Rolette (39th round, Cleveland).
During his career at K-State, Conlon posted a .300 career batting average and became the 18th Wildcat in program history to record at least 200 hits while also being just one of two Wildcats since 1997 to be named First Team All-Big 12 twice and was a unanimous selection in 2015.
Conlon began K-State’s magical 2013 season with a 15-game hitting streak on his way to posting career highs in every major statistical category that season, while finishing second in the Big 12 with 56 runs scored and third with 125 total bases. His seven home runs tied for the team lead while posting 25 multi-hit games while leading the Wildcats to a game away from the College World Series.
The Naperville, Illinois, native was selected in the 21st round by the Kansas City Royals in the 2013 MLB draft but did not sign and returned to K-State. After his collegiate career finished, he was selected by the Oakland A’s in the 34th round of the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft and spent a season with the A’s rookie league affiliate in Arizona.
In the minor leagues, Conlon recorded a .327 average with four doubles and 18 RBI.
Conlon and his wife, the former Kim Fairchild, currently reside in Manhattan.

.300 career batting average, going 207-for-690 in 196 games (181 starts) ... Of his 207 hits, 35 were doubles, 7 triples and 10 home runs ... Appeared in six games, including two starts, until an injury ended his season ... Received a medical redshirt ... Earned a 1-1 record and a 6.35 ERA in 11.1 innings with 10 walks and eight strikeouts ... Began the year tossing 1.2 innings of no-hit ball with three strikeouts at CSU Bakersfield on Feb. 18 ... Also came out of the bullpen against Pacific on March 2 to throw three scoreless frames, working around three hits with two strikeouts ... FRESHMAN (2011)
A two-way player who saw time in the field in 31 games while he pitched in 11 games with six starts ... Held a 4-1 record and a 4.42 ERA, allowing 18 earned runs on 37 hits with 13 walks and 25 strikeouts in 36.2 innings ... Also held opponents to a .242 batting average ... Saw most of his action out of the bullpen to begin the season, including a game at No. 21 ... Baylor in which he tossed 2.1 no-hit innings with two strikeouts to pick up his first win ... Earned his first career start against Texas Tech on April 21, taking the win as he threw 6.2 scoreless innings with four hits, no walks and five strikeouts ... Also earned the win in a five-inning start against New Orleans on May 15, while he was the winning pitcher against No. 12 Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship on May 27 when he allowed two runs on four hits in five innings ... Earned 16 starts at first base, including 11 in Big 12 play ... Was 9-for-56 with a double and one RBI ... Was named a Louisville Slugger High School All-American as a first baseman and pitcher, the Prep Baseball Report Player of the Year, the Chicago Tribune Player of the Year and the Daily Herald Player of the Year ...
