Ole Miss Withstands Wildcats' Comeback Bid

Manhattan, Kan. - Jason Harrison hit two free throws with 1.5 seconds left to break a tie and lift Ole Miss to a 67-65 victory over Kansas State in a men's college basketball game played Saturday before 8,632 at Bramlage Coliseum.
The victory lifted the Rebels to 3-1 overall, while the loss was the Wildcats' first in three games this season.
Justin Reed scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds to lead four Ole Miss players who scored in double figures. Harrison and David Sanders added 13 points apiece, while Derrick Allen added 12 points and 11 boards.
Kansas State's Larry Reid led all scorers with 22 points, while Travis Reynolds added 14 points.
The game was tied three times in the final four minutes, the last time at 65-65. K-State rebounded a missed shot by Sanders with 28 seconds left and held the ball for the final shot. Reid missed a shot for K-State with six seconds left, and Reed grabbed the rebound for the Rebels.
Reynolds was called for a reach-in foul as the teams came up the floor, however, and Harrison buried two free throws. Pervis Pasco missed a desperation half-court shot at the buzzer.
Kansas State trailed through most of the game, but turned a 40-30 deficit in the first minute of the second half into a 46-46 tie with 13:24 remaining. The Wildcats led briefly twice in the second half, taking a 52-50 edge midway through and a 61-60 lead with 3:56 to play.
Mississippi led by as many as 17 points in the first half, taking a 26-9 edge with 7:47 left before K-State rallied within 37-28 at halftime. Allen had a dozen points and 10 rebounds in the first half for the Rebels.
Reid scored 16 points in the second half for the Wildcats, who posted their third straight second-half rally. K-State held the Rebels to just 33 percent shooting from the floor after halftime.
Pasco led the Wildcats with eight rebounds, as K-State held a 34-28 edge on the boards.
Kansas State continues its six-game, season-opening homestand on Tuesday, Nov. 27 with a matchup against Tennessee State.
