Kansas State Quotes

Head Coach Jim Wooldridge

On having a chance to play everyone...
"It's always good to be able to play everybody on the roster, giving some guys some time that have been practicing hard. Not being in a barn burner today, I think that all of our guys felt better about it, and we'll move on from there and go on to the next game."

On having quality playing time...
"We had some guys during segments of the game that, when the game was still at bay there, that played well. Larry (Reid)'s 11 assists were a big part of the game. Pervis (Pasco) finishing the game with big plays was a big part of the game. There were some things that we accomplished while the game was still on the line that were real confidence builders for us."

On K-State's play in the paint...
"We needed to get the ball inside. We had a big advantage in there. We talked to our team about it. We should get rebounds and there should be some easy plays in there."

Junior Forward Pervis Pasco

On the plan of the game...
"We knew that the inside play was our focus. We just looked at getting the ball into the inside. We tried to get a good led and play from there."

On the second half...
"Coach told us that we had twenty more minutes to play and we just came out and looked at our chances to improve."

On timeouts when ahead...
"Coach was trying to keep everyone together and focused. It was to keep us loose and to prevent turnovers."

On Matt Siebrandt's play...
"Matt came in and played well for us. We always need all the big guys coming in, anytime, even a sub, so we can play well."

Junior forward Matt Siebrandt

On the size difference...
"They were a lot smaller than us and we tried to take advantage of our size and to get the ball inside. We wanted to get some easy buckets in the beginning and get things rolling."

On the 21-point run...
"I contribute that to attacking the rim and not settling. Usually we base these zones, were we play them by passing around the arc. Today we decided that we would play around and attack the rim, which I thought that we did a good job."

On facing a team that has a losing record...
"I don't really look at the fact that they have a 0-10 record. We have a season that we are dealing with right now, we are 5-5, so any win is a big win. We just need to look at it like that, come in and try to play hard, and try to improve."

On conference play...
"Preseason didn't come out as we had expected, but I think that we feel good about our team and where we are. We know that we have a good chance to compete in the next sixteen conference games. We are excited to go down to Lubbock and get it started."

Fairleigh Dickinson Quotes

Head Coach Tom Green

On K-State's performance...
"The biggest stat was points in the paint. They had 54 of their 88 points in the paint. They're bigger, stronger, more aggressive inside than us. We didn't have an answer other than recruiting during the course of the game."

On the effect of having a Kansas native on the roster when deciding to play K-State...
"When the opportunity came up, I told Richard (Chavez) we'd definitely get back to Kansas at least once if not twice during his career, and obviously the chance came up in his freshman year."

On the performance of Wichita native Richard Chavez...
"He's playing well for us. He's definitely more mature than what he showed today. He got some good looks. The ball just wasn't falling for him today, but it has in other games. He's got a good career in front of him and a chance to play a lot of basketball for us."
