Wildcats Drop One To Wichita St., 65-56

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Troy Mack had 20 points and 10 rebounds as WichitaState beat Kansas State 65-56 Wednesday night.
Kansas State (4-2) erased an eight-point halftime deficit to lead 47-43 withabout eight minutes to play, but Mack scored seven straight points to ignite alate 12-0 run. Rob Kampman hit a 3-pointer with four minutes to go to giveWichita State (4-3) its second straight victory over its intrastate rival.
Gilson DeJesus hit his fifth 3-pointer of the night to cut it to four with2:15 left. Pervis Pasco had a chance to cut it to two at the free throw linewith 50.9 to go, but missed. Travis Reynolds then fouled Kampman, who made bothfree throws.
The Shockers, who had been shooting 44 percent from the floor this season,were held to 37.2 percent.
Kampman finished with 15 points and Randy Burns added 10 for Wichita State.DeJesus scored a career-high 21 points, while Larry Reid had 11 for theWildcats.
Kansas State leads the all-time series 19-10. Wichita State beat theWildcats 76-66 last season.
