Wildcats Earn Preseason Honors

Manhattan, Kan. - Various preseason publications have most often tabbed Kansas State between 11th and 15th in the nation heading into the 2001 football season. Officially, the Wildcats were picked 11th in the first USA Today/ESPN coaches' ranking of the year.
The Wildcats begin the 2001 season on Sept. 8 when they travel to Southern California. Kansas State's home opener is Sept. 15 against Louisiana Tech. K-State has three road games - USC, Oklahoma, Nebraska - against universities that have combined to win 20 national championships.
