* Kansas State started senior Larry Reid, and freshman Nick Williams at the guard positions and juniors Matt Siebrandt, Quentin Buchanan, and Pervis Pasco at the forward slots... It marked the sixth straight contest that the Wildcats have used this line-up... This starting line-up is now 2-4 on the season... Pasco has started all 18 games this season.
* Tonight's win snaps a three-game losing streak to Texas... The last victory over the Longhorns came on 2/11/98 in an 81-77 win in Manhattan.
* Kansas State now leads the all-time series with Texas, 7-4, in a series that dates back to 1971... However, the Longhorns still hold a 4-2 advantage since the inception of the Big 12 Conference play in 1997... The Wildcats are now 4-1 all-time against the Longhorns in Manhattan.
* For just the fourth time this season Kansas State shot 50 percent or better against its opponent... The Wildcats connected on exactly 50.0 percent (26-of-52) of their field goals against Texas... It was the highest shooting percentage against a Big 12 foe since also shooting 50.0 percent against Baylor (1/16/02).
* Kansas State shot 53.8 percent (14-of-26) in the second half, which is the highest field goal shooting percentage in a half since the Wildcats shot 62.1 percent (18-of-29) against Fairleigh Dickinson (12/29/01).
* After combining for 10-of-24 shooting from the free throw in the first half, both teams drastically improved in the second half... Kansas State connected on 76.9 percent (10-of-13), while Texas shot 73.3 percent (11-of-15)... For the contest, the Longhorns hit 61.5 percent (16-of-26), while the Wildcats connected on 57.7 (15-of-26).
* Texas out-rebounded Kansas State, 33-31... However, the Wildcats forced two more turnovers (13-11).
* Texas edged Kansas State, 30-28, in points in the paint... It marked the first time this season the Wildcats have won a game and been outscored in the paint.
* Larry Reid led four Wildcats in double-digit scoring with 17 points... It was the sixth straight game that Reid has scored in double figures... Reid also chipped in five assists and four rebounds... It marked the 13th time this season that Reid has posted five or more assists in game.
* Phineas Atchison scored in double figures for the sixth time in the last eight games with 15 points... It was his highest-point total since he had a season-best 17 points against Missouri (1/26/02).
* Matt Siebrandt scored in double figures for the fourth time in the last five games with 12 points... It was his highest point-total since he had a season-best 14 against Fairleigh Dickinson (12/29/01).
* The 31-all tie at halftime marked the first time this season that Kansas State has been tied at the intermission... Texas shot 48.1 percent (13-of-27) from the field in the first half, while K-State converted on 46.2 percent (12-of-26) of its shots... The Longhorns grabbed five more rebounds (19-14), however, the Wildcats forced four more turnovers (8-4).
