Nine Wildcats earn Academic All-Big 12 Honor

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Senior linebacker Andy Klocke led nine Kansas State players who were named Tuesday to the Academic All-Big 12 Football Team, the league office announced.
Klocke was one of seven student-athletes from around the league who is carrying a 4.0 grade-point average. Klocke is working toward an MBA at K-State while participating in his final season of football as a Wildcat.
Other K-State players selected to the first team were senior defensive back Chris Post, junior linebacker Terry Pierce, junior offensive lineman Ryan Lilja, sophomore tight end Brian Casey and sophomore offensive lineman Ryan Schmuecker.
Senior captain Marc Dunn, senior defensive tackle Eric Everley and redshirt freshman linebacker Ted Sims were named to the second team.
The football Academic All-Big 12 team consisted of 96 first-team members and 64 on the second team. Those on the first team had GPAs of 3.20 or better, while the second team are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
