- Kansas State opened the game with the same starting lineup as in the previous four games... The fivesome of Frank Richards, Jarrett Hart, Gilson DeJesus, Matt Siebrandt and Pervis Pasco is now 2-3 as starters.
- K-State posted its first home win of the season... The 'Cats are now 1-1 at Bramlage Coliseum this year.
- The Wildcats extended their streak to five straight games in which they have held opponents to less than 50 percent shooting from the floor... The Golden Lions' shooting mark of .273 from the floor was the lowest of the year for a K-State opponent, surpassing the .364 of Toledo (11/24/02)... In fact, UAPB hit .273 in both halves.
- Kansas State out-rebounded Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 51-32... It was the third straight game in which the Wildcats held the advantage on the glass... K-State's total of 51 rebounds were the most this season, eclipsing the 34 posted against both Michigan (11/25/02) and Northwestern (11/30/02)... It was the most since K-State out-boarded Fairleigh Dickinson, 52-26, on 12/29/01.
- The Wildcats are now 2-0 against the Golden Lions in the series... K-State won the previous matchup between the teams, 83-61, on 12/23/96 in Manhattan... Wildcats are now 3-0 against teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
- The Wildcats' 28 three-point attempts as a team surpassed the 20 they had against Northwestern (11/30/02)... It was also the most for the Wildcats since they had 27 three-point attempts last year against Wichita State (12/5/01).
- Gilson DeJesus had 12 points in the first half, only two fewer than his previous season-high of 14 (vs. Toledo, 11/24/02)... He had his dozen first-half points on four three-pointers... He matched his career-high of six three-pointers with 17:12 left in the second half... He went 6-for-12 behind the arc last season vs. Wichita State (12/5/01)... DeJesus matched his career-high 21 points at the 14:34 mark, hitting his career-best seventh three-pointer on his 11th try...
- More G-for-3: DeJesus' seven three-pointers was T4th on the single-game list at K-State, matching four other players (Larry Reid vs. Iowa State, 2/3/01; Galen Morrison vs. Nebraska, 1/8/00; Will Scott vs. DePaul, 3/19/88; Askia Jones vs. Nebraska (2/8/92)... He is now 18-for-29 from three-point range this season (.621)... His is 1-for-6 from two-point range this season... All of his dozen shots tonight were from three-point range.
- DeJesus led the Wildcats in scoring for the second time this year (14 points vs. Toledo, 11/24/02)... He is the second Wildcat to hit the 20-point mark in a game this season (Marcus Hayden, 20, vs. BYU, 11/23/02).
- Pervis Pasco had seven offensive rebounds in the first half, matching his career-high for a game on the offensive glass... Pasco had seven O-boards at Iowa on 12/22/01... Pasco's previous season-high for rebounds was six (vs. Michigan, 11/25/02) and he had 10 at halftime tonight, leading the 'Cats to a 29-15 edge on the glass... Pasco's 11 rebounds were the most by a Wildcat yet this season, surpassing the eight by Matt Siebrandt vs. Northwestern (11/30/02) and the eight by Marcus Hayden vs. BYU (11/23/02)... It was his 12th game in double figures on the glass as a Wildcat and the 25th time in his Wildcat career he has led the team in rebounding (2nd this year).
- Jarrett Hart matched his season-high for assists at halftime, posting four... He finished the game with five, matching Frank Richards for the K-State team-high... Richards has led or tied for the team lead in assists in a game in four of the Wildcats' five games this year.
- The 23 points by Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the break were the lowest in a first half by a Wildcat opponent this year... The Golden Lions finished with 39, also the lowest of the season and the lowest allowed by K-State since a 69-38 win over Texas A&M on 2/12/02... The 16 points in the second half by UAPB were the fewest allowed by the 'Cats since Texas A&M trailed, 37-13, at halftime of that game last year.
- Marcelo Da Barrosa made his first appearance of the season in the second half.
- Marcus Hayden had his second game of the year with double figures in points... Hayden finished with 14 points, his first time in double figures since scoring 20 in the season-opener against BYU (11/23/02).
- Quentin Buchanan scored his first points of the season tonight, finishing with eight in only 10 minutes.
- There were no blocked shots in the game by either team tonight.
