MANHATTAN, Kan. - Game times have been set for the first three games of the 2002 Kansas State football season, athletic department officials announced Tuesday.
The opening two games, Aug. 31 against Western Kentucky and Sept. 7 against Louisiana-Monroe, will kick off at 6:10 p.m. The third game, on Sept. 14 against Eastern Illinois, will have a 1:10 p.m. start. None of the opening three games have been slated for live television broadcasts.
Kickoff times for the remaining five home games will be announced after television selections have been confirmed by the Big 12 Conference within six or 12 days prior to the game. Fans are encouraged to check local media outlets or log on to www.k-statesports.com for updated game times throughout the season.
In addition, athletic department officials are reminding fans that they still have an opportunity to purchase season tickets for the upcoming football campaign, a year in which the Wildcats will play their most home games ever.
Season tickets are available in both donor and non-donor sections of KSU Stadium. Bench seating is priced at $285 for the eight-game home schedule, the first time in K-State history the Wildcats will play eight games in Manhattan.
The home schedule includes the highly anticipated matchups against powers Southern Cal, Texas and Nebraska, three schools which rank among the top 10 in all-time football victories. Kansas State is also home for the first four games of the season and six of its first seven contests.
"There may be a perception that we're sold out of season tickets but they are still available," said associate athletics director Casey Scott. "We have a terrific home schedule and we want fans to know they still have the opportunity to become a part of what should be a great season."
For more information regarding football season tickets, fans may stop by the K-State Athletic Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum or call toll-free at 1-800-221-CATS.
