LUND, Sweden - Kansas State's Pervis Pasco finished in double figures for the fifth time in six games, scoring 11 points and grabbing 6 rebounds, as the Big 12 All-Stars completed an undefeated tour of Scandinavia Thursday with a 121-48 rout of Swedish club team I.K. EOS.
The Big 12 All-Stars wrapped up their trip a perfect 6-0 to became the first of three Big 12 men's all-star teams to finish its European tour undefeated.
"There's no doubt that this was the weakest of all the teams that we played but nonetheless I thought we played one of our best games together," Baylor head coach Dave Bliss said following the blowout victory. "I thought we got our legs a little bit back after being on the road for 10 days."
The All-Stars shot a torrid 70 percent (17 of 24) in the first quarter to run out to a 38-9 lead. Oklahoma State's Ivan McFarlin shot 4-for-5 in the period and scored eight points and Jake Sullivan of Iowa State hit two 3-pointers to add six points. By halftime the Big 12 lead was 65-23.
"Jake Sullivan hit a bunch of shots and Ivan (McFarlin) on the inside was difficult to guard," Bliss said. "I thought Lawrence Roberts played a good all-around floor game, as did Nick Anderson and Pervis Pasco."
In addition to Pasco, who averaged 11.8 point per game on the trip, six other All-Stars scored in double-digits, led by McFarlin's 21 and Sullivan's 18. The team made 53 of 84 field goals on the night, more than 63 percent.
Jason Klotz of Texas led the Big 12 with eight rebounds, and Texas Tech's Will Chavis recorded a team-high eight assists.
"This is a neat team to have a chance to coach," Bliss said. "I think they certainly got along well and had some great experiences here while they were on the trip. They'll remember this hopefully the rest of their lives. I think they were goodwill ambassadors not only for the Big 12 but also for America. If you saw how the crowd interacted with them at the end of the game when the players gave them their shirts, I think everybody left with a pretty good taste."
The Big 12 All-Stars return to the United States Friday after 11 days touring Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
