SENIOR GUARD JARRETT HART
On getting back on the court...
“It feels great to be out there. That’s what I’ve been practicing all these months to do. I’ve been going through a process and that process is finally through. It felt great to be back out. There was a little rust, but it felt great.”
On what it was like to not be playing...
“It was frustrating. I haven’t played a full season yet, due to injuries. I try not to take anything for granted anymore. I was just happy I had the opportunity to come out here tonight and perform.”
On being suspended...
“It was a character builder. I think I was a good man for the job. I wish it wouldn’t have happened like it did, but you learn. That’s what a lot of people have been telling me lately, you go to college to learn things. Better to learn it now than later. I learn it a little faster than others. Now I just have to put it behind me and focus on my school and on basketball.”
FRESHMAN POINT GUARD DEZ WILLINGHAM
On his play in tonight’s game...
“It’s my first college game and I’m going to remember it. I’m going to remember the win. It’s good to make your first college shot. It made me settle down a lot. I took what they gave me.”
On the fans...
“It felt good tonight. I was kind of nervous, but we’ve got crazy fans. They were cheering us on and made us play harder.”
On the win...
“I think it’s good. Now we’re 1-0. Everybody is a little more confident. We’ve got stuff to work on, but being 1-0 is a good thing. It’s a lot better than being 0-1.”
On how the team is developing...
“I think we’re gelling well. There are some things we need to work on, but as a team, we’re coming together pretty well.”
