Wichita State Player Quotes

On the 54-50 loss to K-State...
“It’s pretty disappointing right now, I think it was a game that we felt we had a chance to win. Obviously we didn’t win, but we have to move on from here. We’re going to learn from this game and use it down the road, and that’s all we can do about it now.”
On their offensive play...
“They were putting a lot of pressure on us, and I felt like we were getting a lot of good looks at the basket, but the ball just wasn’t going in the basket at all. It’s like someone had a lid on it, and we just couldn’t get anything to go in.”
On the play of Jeremiah Massey...
“He’s a load. He’s a very good player, and a really tenacious rebounder and coach told us going in there that it was going to be a big, important fact to keep him off the board. I think that in the first half we did that, and limited K-State to about one shot (per possession). But in the second half it was a different story. I don’t know if it was the fact that we played a wider zone in the second half and some of the rebounds were going to spots where we couldn’t get guys boxed out or what, but they just got too many chances in the second half.”
