WYOMING HEAD COACH STEVE MCCLAIN

On the mistakes that cost Wyoming the game...

“We just didn’t rebound the basketball.  And that’s what I talked to the kids about.  The things they (K-State) run are different from other people.  The triangle is really good and Jim does a great job of teaching it.  And we guarded it well enough, we just didn’t guard the second shot and second shots are hard to guard.  That’s when the game got out of hand.”

On his feelings after the game...

“You’re always disappointed when you lose. But on the other side, we have a lot of new players and for a lot of these guys like Mikel Watson, Tim Henry, and Dion (Sherrell), this was their first real game as I want to say.  And we played a team that was 3-0 and has a lot of confidence right now.  We’re a better basketball team for coming in here and playing.”

On the lack of rebounds...

“It wasn’t just our big guys, our guards didn’t get enough rebounds, because those big guys from Kansas State are physical guys.  And you’re in there battling them, and sometimes the ball comes off and a guard has to step in there and get a rebound.  And that’s the biggest thing we talked about because again, we just didn’t finish that part of it, and that’s the biggest part of the game.”
