Wildcats Fall In OT To No. 6 Oklahoma, 91-89

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Ebi Ere scored 25 points and made three key freethrows in the final seconds, leading No. 6 Oklahoma to a 91-89 overtime victoryover Kansas State on Saturday.
Hollis Price, the leading scorer during the Big 12 season, added 22 pointsfor the Sooners (15-3, 6-1), while Quannas White had 19 and freshman KevinBookout had 16.
Matt Siebrandt scored 23 points to lead Kansas State (11-8, 2-4), but hefouled out early in the extra period. The Wildcats had won nine straight athome.
Tim Ellis tied it at 82 in overtime with an off-balance 3-pointer withone-tenth of a second left. With 1:35 to play, White's two free throws gaveOklahoma an 88-87 lead.
Ere then rebounded Ellis' errant 3-point attempt with a minute left. Afteran Oklahoma timeout, Jozef Szendrel rebounded White's miss, and Ere wasdeliberately fouled with 16.7 seconds left.
He made the first for an 89-87 lead and then wound up with the rebound aftermissing the second.
After getting fouled again, he went to the line with 11.3 seconds left andmade both for a 91-87 lead. Frank Richards cut it to two when he drove the lanefor a basket and was fouled by Szendrel. With 4.9 seconds left, Richards missedthe free throw, and the Wildcats knocked the ball out of bounds while battlingfor the rebound.
After Ere's two free throws put Oklahoma on top 80-77, Siebrandt muscledinside for his left-handed hook and to get the Wildcats to 80-79 with 49seconds left in regulation.
Bookout, on a great pass from Ere, made a basket that gave the Sooners an82-79 lead with 21 seconds left. After a Kansas State miss, Ellis steppedbehind the 3-point line and tied it at 82.
With three starters carrying three fouls and two saddled with four, theSooners went on a 6-0 spurt, capped by Price's drive to the basket that made it74-69 with 4:20 left.
With 3:59 to go, Oklahoma's Jabahri Brown drew his fifth foul and PervisPasco made both free throws to cut the lead to 74-71.
Pasco, a 47-percent free throw shooter, was 11-of-13 from the line.
