MANHATTAN, Kan. - For the first time, Kansas State football fans will have the option of renewing their season tickets on-line through the athletics department web site, Athletics Director Tim Weiser announced.
Season-ticket holders began receiving their 2003 renewal forms this week. Included in the mailing were step-by-step instructions about how to purchase their seats on-line at www.k-statesports.com.?
"Many universities are now utilizing the internet for season ticket renewals and finding it to be a very convenient and time-saving process for both the customer and the school," Athletics Ticket Manager Bob Howell said.
Customers will be guided through an initial registration process when they enter the ticket site for the first time. Each football season-ticket renewal form includes the customers' account number and a confidential Personal Identification Number (PIN) that fans must use to activate their on-line account.
Once registered, customers will be logged directly into their personal ticket account, which lists the number of tickets they hold, the seat locations and other purchase options such as ordering additional single-game tickets, parking and Cat Cushions.
All on-line purchases require a valid credit card. K-State accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Once payment is processed, customers will be presented with an order acknowledgement page, which can be printed for their records.
The Ticket Office will also send an e-mail acknowledging the order within 24 hours.K-State's initial venture into internet ticket sales was in December when it sold tickets on-line for the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl. Howell said the response from the public was exceptional, with approximately one-third of K-State's bowl sales resulting from the on-line option.
Howell said that once the football renewal process is completed, the Athletics Department will offer single-game tickets on-line to the public for football, men's basketball and women's basketball during the 2003-04 season.
