Kansas State Head Coach Bill Snyder Quotes

On the team turning the corner...
“Well, there’s always a corner. I have never seen a building that didn’t have a corner, every time you turned it. We made some headway, sure we did. We are a little bit better today than we were previously. It is still a work in progress, but I was pleased with a lot of things. I was proud of Allen Webb. Allen certainly had his share of mistakes, but to come in under those circumstances and against that defense, he did a nice job.”
On Allen Webb starting at QB...
“I think it’s the Allen Webb we anticipated and thought could do many of the things he did today.”
On Webb’s preparation time leading up to the game vs.
“I think what really was most important was that he took the time (to prepare). I was proud of him and Del Miller our quarterbacks coach.
On Dylan Meier’s probability of starting at the QB position...
“Dylan is our quarterback and it puts Allen (Webb) in a position where we feel comfortable, if he continues to do what he did today and continues to prepare himself during the course of the week. That’s the key for all of them. Most anybody can play pretty well, if they spend the time and effort to prepare themselves during the course of the week. If he (Webb) continues to do that, we will have a great deal of confidence in him and feel comfortable in giving him the ball.”
On K-State’s defense in the second half...
“I thought we were very good in the second half and we were really good in the first half, except we made a few apprehensible mistakes (in the first half). We gave up two big plays and that was two big plays they got touchdowns off of and that’s 14 points.”
On the importance of Darren Sproles’ game...
“If Darren doesn’t get the numbers, everyone still knows who Darren Sproles is. There isn’t any doubt about the quality of play that he brings. How well he plays and what he means to our team, I don’t think there’s any doubt in anyone’s mind about that. If it took 135 yards for someone to be able to define him that way, they have no clue about this game.”
On K-State’s option game against
“It lends itself to what Allen (Webb) is capable of doing. But, by the same token, that’s one of those things that those kinds of defenses are most vulnerable to. It’s a major blitz team. They’ve got something that I have never seen in my life before. They’re coming from all angles, but that makes them vulnerable to option football and that’s what happened.”
