K-State Basketball Tips Off 2004-05 Season With 2-for-1 Offer

Nov 19, 2004 | Men's Basketball

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State basketball fans can see two games for the price of one when the Wildcat men's and women's teams tip off their respective seasons Friday, Nov. 19, in Bramlage Coliseum.

The teams open the 2004-05 campaign with the 18th-ranked women hosting Wyoming of the Mountain West Conference at 6 p.m., followed by the Wildcat men against North Dakota State at 8:30 p.m. Fans holding a ticket to the women's game may stay for the men's game and a men's ticket-holder may come early for the women's game at no extra cost.

Fans with reserved seats to the women's game will have seating priority during that contest, then will be asked to move into general admission student seating areas (Sections 18-21) on the east side of Bramlage Coliseum for the men's game. Fans with men's tickets may sit in general admission sections for the women's game (Sections 20-26), then move into their regular seats for the men's action.

Athletic department officials noted that the Bramlage parking lots would open at 4:30 p.m., and that some areas in the west lot normally available for women's games would be reserved only for members of the Directors Club with numbered spaces.

Former K-State All-America center Nicole Ohlde, coming off an outstanding rookie season for the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA, will be signing autographs from 5 to 6 p.m., on the concourse of Bramlage Coliseum and "Prowl," the Lynx mascot, will perform at halftime of the women's game. Between games, members of the Wildcat baseball team will be available for autographs on the concourse while the renowned dance team, the Marching Cobras, will perform at halftime of the men's game. In addition, the first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive men's and women's basketball schedule magnets.

The basketball doubleheader kicks off an event-packet "Wildcat Weekend" that includes the regular-season football finale against Iowa State at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, followed by volleyball vs. Texas Tech at 7 p.m. The weekend concludes with the women's basketball team returning to action against Pepperdine at 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 21. Fans presenting a ticket from the football game will be admitted to the volleyball match and the Pepperdine basketball game for just $1.

Tickets for all four events may be purchased at the Athletic Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum, by calling 1-800-221-CATS or on-line at www.k-statesports.com.
