K-State's Joe Rheem named one of 20 semifinalists for 2004 Lou Groza Award

Rheem, Kansas State's leading scorer with 64 points this season and the Big 12 Conference's No. 2 kick-scorer on the year, has connected on 11-of-13 field goals, including 3-of-5 from 40 yards or longer, with his only misses coming on blocks that resulted from protection break-downs.

On this week's NCAA chart, Rheem ranks 63rd in the nation in scoring with 7.11 points per game and 34th nationally in field goals made per game (1.22).
For his career, the senior is third all-time at K-State in career scoring with 279 points, is fifth in field goals made (36) and second in PATs made (171).
The brother of 1999 and 2000 Lou Groza Award runner-up Jamie Rheem, Joe is joined on this year's semifinalist list by just two other Big 12 kickers, Mason Crosby of Colorado and Todd Pegram of Texas A&M.
The voters for the Lou Groza Award are comprised of all Division I head coaches plus sports writers and sportscasters from across the country, conference officials, various NFL kickers and all previous Lou Groza Award finalists.
The three finalists for the Lou Groza Award will be announced on Monday, Nov. 22. The finalists will then be honored at the 13th Annual Lou Groza Award Banquet on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the West Palm Beach Marriott in
