Mar 23, 2004 | Baseball
Dallas, Texas - The Kansas State baseball team, fresh off a three-game sweep of Michigan State, cracked the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association national poll that was released Monday. The Wildcats, 17-6 this season, checked in at No. 35 and are one of six Big 12 schools to be ranked in this week’s poll.
The Wildcats are off to their best start since 1997, when the Cats began the season 20-7. Current K-State records do not show when the last time a Wildcat baseball team was ranked.
Kansas State, winners of 14 of its last 16 games, begins Big 12 play this weekend when it travels to Columbia, Mo., to face the No. 26 Missouri Tigers
