WACO, Texas (AP) - Jeremiah Massey scored 21 points and Cartier Martin added 14 as Kansas State held off a furious Baylor comeback in a 64-62 win on Wednesday.
Terrance Thomas had narrowed the gap to 64-62 with a 3-pointer off the glass with 41 seconds left. Jarrett Hart and Marques Hayden each missed the front end of one-and-one free throws and Baylor snared the rebounds. Baylor's R.T. Guinn worked open for a 3-pointer, but his shot bounced off the rim as the game ended.
The Wildcats (13-13, 5-10 Big 12) led 56-37 midway through the second half. But Baylor (8-20, 3-12) mounted a 12-1 run ending with a Corey Herring layup to cut the lead to single digits at 57-49 with just under seven minutes left to play. The Bears continued to chip away.
Terrance Thomas paced Baylor's scoring with 14 points, while Corey Herring contributed 13 and Matt Sayman 12.
Since losing 21 consecutive Big 12 road games, the Wildcats have now won two of their last three.
