Harley Day Information
Aug 26, 2004 | General
It's Harley time again, so get your bike tuned up. Let's show the Huskers on October 14th what the "Harley Cats" are all about!
The application process will be much like it has been in the past. We are asking everyone to complete an application for consideration to participate. The tremendous number of early inquiries indicates that we will again use the newly revised priority point system to determine who will actually receive a pass to ride. Priority points are generated through owning any type of season athletic tickets and donations made to the Ahearn Scholarship Fund. A more detailed explanation of the point system can be found on the department web site (kstatesports.com) under donor information.
Those who wish to apply for this year’s ride may do so by sending an e-mail to (lfloyd@ksu.edu) with the following information:
1. Driver's Name
2. Rider's Name
3. Driver's Address
3. Daytime phone
4. Ahearn Scholarship donor level
APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY SEPTEMBER 20, 2006. Late applications will not be considered. Those selected will receive an invitation with more details and those not selected will receive a letter by mail. APPLICATIONS ARE LIMITED TO THOSE WHO WILL ACTUALLY TAKE PART IN THE RIDE AS EITHER DRIVER OR RIDER.
We would like to include everyone but there simply is not time or space to accommodate all applications. Experience has taught us that 100 bikes is the optimal number since the first bikes are ready to exit the stadium as the last bikes are preparing to enter. This number is also in compliance with the very detailed pre-game timing restrictions. We appreciate everyone’s understanding concerning this situation.
Kansas State wishes to thank TIM and RETA LINFORS of SALINA HARLEY DAVIDSON for again agreeing to be the exclusive sponsor for this year’s event. The Linfors will be hosting an in-store drawing for three spots in the ride. We encourage you to stop by their beautiful store located at 2200 N. Ohio in Salina to register for one of these spots and look over their fantastic inventory of Harleys, official Harley clothing and bike accessories. They also have a fully equipped repair shop featuring a well trained staff of motorcycle mechanics.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you Oct.14 for HARLEY DAY 2006.
Questions should be directed to Lon Floyd at 785 532-7707.
