1992 (senior): Named first-team All-American by the Associated Press, Kodak and Athlon's ... First first-team All-American since Gary Spani in 1977 (15 years)... Finished his senior season by rewriting the Kansas State punting record book... Broke the Wildcat records for best punting average with 52.8 yards per punt (record now held by James Garcia with 60.3), single season with 44.7 and career with 43.0 (now held by James Garcia with 43.18)... At one point during the season, he was averaging 48.8 yards per punt before running into bad weather conditions four consecutive weeks... Was only 2.8 yards per game away from the NCAA record held by Bucky Scribner (45.8) in 1982... Named to the Football Coaches/Kodak All-American team and was a first team All-Big Eight selection by the Associated Press and the league's coaches... Had 19 punts land inside the 20... Had 26 punts of 50 yards or more... Averaged better than 50 yards per punt in three games... Against Colorado , he had eight punts of longer than 50 yards, including a career-tying 64 yarder... Had at least one punt of 52 yards or more in all but one game and has booted at least one 60 yarder in four of 11 games.
1991 (junior): Named the 1991 Big Eight Defensive Newcomer of the Year by the conference coaches after finishing fourth in the league and 27th nationally with a 40.5 punting average... Also earned honorable mention All-Big Eight honors from the Associated Press and the coaches... Named Kansas State 's Special Teams Player of the Year at the annual awards banquet... Out-punted six of his seven Big Eight counterparts in head-to-head matchups, including all three punters that finished ahead of him in the overall statistics... 12 of his 55 punts pinned opponents inside their own 20 and only 20 of his punts were returned... Had 11 punts of 50 yards or more, including a season-long 64-yard boot against Colorado ... Best punting day came in a 16-12 win over Kansas with five kicks for an average of 44.6 yards, including a 63-yarder... Out-punted Kansas All-American Dan Eichloff 44.6 to 43.1 in that game... Also averaged 44.6 yards on five punts in a win over Idaho State ... Averaged over 40 yards per punt in eight of 11 games, including six of seven Big Eight contests... Had a punt of at least 50 yards in six of 11 games.
1990 (sophomore): Sat out after transferring from Iowa .
1989 (redshirt freshman at Iowa ): Started and punted in two games for the Hawkeyes.
1988 (freshman): Redshirt season.
High School: Earned first-team all-area and second-team all-district honors as a punter and kicker at Greenville ( Texas ) High School... In a game against Garland , he kicked field goals of 45 and 37 yards, and added two punts of over 50 yards... Also played baseball.
Personal: Born Sept. 21, 1969 in Anaheim , Calif ... Father is former K-State head coach Bill Snyder... Married to the former Wanda Boyett... The couple has three children, Katherine, Tate and William.
