1996 (freshman): Stepped in as true freshman following a preseason injury to returning starter Martin Gramatica... Perfect on all 43 extra-point attempts... Made 4-of-8 field-goal attempts, including a career-best 51-yarder against Nebraska ... Tied for second in school record by making eight PATs against Indiana State ... Finished second on team to Mike Lawrence in scoring with 55 points... Was scheduled to attend K-State as a part-time student but was forced into action following Gramatica's injury... High School: As a senior at Collegiate High School , he made 10-of-12 field-goal attempts, including a 47-yarder, and made 55-of-56 extra-point attempts as a high school teammate of Nebraska 's DeAngelo Evans... Coach was Mike Gehrer.

First ball he kicked in his college career was taken to College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Ind., as part of a display for the Big 12 Conference as the first ball used in a Big 12 Conference contest...
