K-State to host Jam the Ville

MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State Athletic Department will hold the inaugural “Jam The Ville” event for the Wildcat men’s and women’s basketball teams in downtown Aggieville this Friday, Oct. 21 from 9:30 11 p.m. The event is free and open to the general public.

The event, which will be emceed by Wyatt Thompson, the Voice of the Wildcats, will be held in the parking lot on the corner of Laramie and Manhattan Avenue in the historic Aggieville district of Manhattan. It will begin with at 9:30 p.m. with a live concert featuring the local band, Ruskabank.

The event will include performances by Willie Wildcat, the Classy Cats, the cheerleading team and the K-State marching band prior to the introduction of the men’s and women’s teams at 10 p.m. The squads will compete in a three-point shooting contest with each team consisting of a male and female player. Fans will also have a chance to win prizes and participate in contests featuring the teams as well as pick up team autograph and schedule cards at the event.

The men’s team will host an open scrimmage on Saturday prior to the Wildcats’ football game with Texas A&M. Doors to the northeast and northwest entrances of Bramlage Coliseum will open at 11:45 a.m., with fans being able to watch the last 15 minutes of practice before the open scrimmage.

The women’s team will hold their open scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 29 prior to the football game with Colorado. The time for the event will be released at a later date.

Kansas State men’s team opens its exhibition season on Thursday, Nov. 3 against the EA Sports All-Stars at Bramlage Coliseum beginning at 7 p.m. The Wildcat women will host their only exhibition game on Tuesday, Nov. 8 against Emporia State at Bramlage Coliseum beginning at 7 p.m.
