Cats for Cans food drive is Saturday

MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State Athletics Department will hold its 10th-annual Cats for Cans food drive during Saturday's Homecoming battle vs. Colorado.

Fans are being encouraged to help the K-State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee fight hunger in Manhattan by participating in the annual food drive by bringing canned food or cash donations to Saturday’s game.

Wildcat student-athletes will begin collecting donations two hours prior to the 1:10 p.m. kickoff in the parking lot and at the stadium entrances. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Flint Hills Breadbasket to help ensure that no one goes hungry this holiday season.

Last year Kansas State fans donated over 7,500 pounds of food and $4,000 in donations which served over 2,000 local families.
