Kansas State Postgame Notes
Dec 06, 2005 | General
- Kansas State’s starting lineup this evening consisted of Shalee Lehning, Kimberly Dietz, Danielle Zanotti, JoAnn Hamlin and Marlies Gipson...It was Lehning’s first career start, Dietz, Zanotti, Hamlin and Gipson all started their seventh straight game this season.
- Since the all-time series first began 27 years ago during the 1977-78 season, this is the first time the Wildcats have defeated Louisiana Tech...K-State is now 1-6 in the series with the Lady Techsters having also won for the first time at home against La. Tech.
- Junior Twiggy McIntyre had a game-high 22 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the three-point line. In seven games this season, she has drained 21 three-pointers. In her previous two seasons as a freshman and sophomore, she made 18 three-pointers in 30 games played each year...This marked the sixth time McIntyre scored in double figures this season.
- With 9:11 remaining in the first half of play, sophomore Kimberly Dietz made her first three-point basket since a two-game scoring drought from the three-point line against Texas-Pan American (12/2) and Saint Joseph’s (12/3) in the Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic...Her 16 points against the Lady Techsters marked her third double-digit performance this season.
- Freshman guard Shalee Lehning registered a career-high 20 rebounds against Louisiana Tech (15 defensive and five offensive)...She also tied the school single-game record for rebounds, previously held by Carlisa Thomas (vs. Colorado on Feb. 11, 1987) and Kendra Wecker (vs. Harvard on Dec. 1, 2001)...Lehning also became the only Wildcat to have played all 40 minutes in a game this season, a career-high for the rookie...She was one point (nine points) and two assists (eight assists) away from recording a triple-double tonight.
- Freshman Marlies Gipson was one-of-three Wildcats to score in double-digits against the Lady Techsters with a career-high 14 points.
