On being up early in the first half and what caused the change of momentum...
“Anytime they go to the free throw line it changed the momentum. Almost every possession I thought that was the difference. They shot great from the line and that is the only way they were scoring there for the first six or seven minutes in the first half and that kind of kept them in the game. I thought they were very poised and attacked the rim in the second half. I thought it was a very good college basketball game. We just came up a little short.”
On Jason Smith’s foul trouble...
“That was a big deal. We’ve got to have Jason in the game. I thought he got a couple ticky-tack fouls and a couple of things that he probably did not handle very well and he’s going to learn from it. We need him in the game. He is our best player, but I thought other guys stepped up. I thought Michael Harrison stepped up and played well. Micheal Morris had a good game. Corey Lewis I thought was terrific. We had some turnovers that hurt us in some stretches and that was disappointing. But I thought we played extremely hard and did some good things. We just didn’t play well enough or shoot well enough.”
On the atmosphere of the huddles during the closing seconds of the game...
“We felt like we had a chance to win. I thought our pressure was bothering them a little bit and we got a steal or two. We had some opportunities but we just couldn’t quite get it to a one possession game. They stepped up and made some big free throws. I think the game was won by their free throw shooting.”
