MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State athletics department launched a new auction website Wednesday, offering fans the opportunity to bid on K-State memorabilia and unique events.
The website will be active at the official website of Wildcat Athletics - k-statesports.com - and initially will give fans the opportunity to pre-bid on more than 30 live auction items that will be a part of the annual K-State Powercat Auction on Friday, April 29. Some of the items include road trips with the football, men's basketball and women's basketball teams, the #1 parking spot at KSU Stadium, plus exciting vacations such as a fishing trip to the Amazon, a 7-day sailing trip to the British Virgin Islands, and a private villa for 7 days in St. Kitts.
Fans can bid on those items and many others up until Wednesday, April 27. At that point, the top on-line bid for each item will be entered into the live auction which will take place the evening of April 29th at Bramlage Coliseum.
"The Powercat Auction has been a unique event that K-Staters have enjoyed for years, but we've heard from many alums outside the state who have expressed an interest in participating from afar and this new auction website now makes that possible," said K-State Director of Athletics Tim Weiser. "We think the response will be good and that our fans will be excited about the wide range of specialty items that are available."
Later this spring, the auction site will add monthly memorabilia items for fans and collectors to bid on such as autographed balls and jerseys.
