JUNIOR GUARD TWIGGY McINTYRE
On tonight’s crowd...
“The crowd was awesome. I saw them when they showed the score of the (men’s) KU-KSU game. They were just going crazy. I knew they couldn’t be screaming for us, but the crowd was amazing. We had people rushing down for seats an hour before the game. They were just hungry for some Kansas State Basketball today.”
On her play tonight...
“I am never completely satisfied. There’s always run for improvement. On the defensive end, I wasn’t in the position I needed to be in. I don’t feel like it was the best.”
On Jessica McFarland...
“We fed off Jessica’s emotions. I don’t really pay too much attention to the match-up with her sister (Jackie). She came in and showed us she was the older and wiser sister. She did her thing. She got some and ones.’ There were a couple of glares between her and her sister. It was funny. But, I love that competitive spirit between them. Jackie is an excellent player and she does and excellent job at CU.”
FRESHMAN GUARD SHALEE LEHNING
On the freshmen’s experiences of Big 12 play...
“It was a great experience for us to see the atmosphere we are going to play in. It is going to be very tough. We have to focus and bring attention to every possession. That is something I learned the most. You can’t take a break at all because the Big 12 teams are going to jump on you when you do. They are going to get you down but you just have to keep a positive attitude and keep going.”
On winning in the Big 12...
“One thing those road losses have shown us is that we have to come prepared every night. As freshmen, we are learning very quickly what it’s like to play on the road and at home. We are going to get better and we are going to surprise a lot of people.”
On her play tonight...
“I just wanted to come and contribute in any way that I could. I wasn’t happy with my performances the last couple of games. I just wanted to come back, contribute and be there for my team. Our team did a great job. We had a couple of tough road losses. We showed that we can bounce back from a loss and come back home and perform like we know how.”
