K-State Slugs it Out with Washburn

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - David Hoskins had 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead Kansas State to a 94-90 triple-overtime exhibition victory over Division II Washburn on Saturday night in Bob Huggins' first game as the Wildcats' coach.

Cartier Martin's basket with 3 minutes remaining in the third overtime gave Kansas State the lead for good and Martin sealed the win, hitting two free throws with 11 seconds remaining to make it a four-point game.

Martin finished with 19 points, and Clent Stewart and Jeramaine Maybank each added 11 points for Kansas State. Paul Byers led Washburn with 26 points and 10 rebounds, Michael Williams added 17 points and Brady Sisk had 16.

Kansas State will open the 2006-07 regular season next Saturday at 1 p.m. in Bramlage Coliseum against William & Mary.
